Day of fun and games brings Willerby colleagues together

Willerby colleagues and their families came together for a day of virtual sports and games at Willerby’s summer staff fun day.

The family fun day was hosted at interactive sports and entertainment venue, Federation of Sport, in Hull city centre, celebrating the commitment and contribution of Willerby’s team members as well as marking the 80th anniversary of the business.

There was fun for all the family, with an array of games and activities, from virtual darts to golf simulators, pool, mini-golf, racing simulators and virtual reality games.

For the youngest visitors there was also a dedicated children’s room with soft play, arts and crafts, face painting and arcade games. Visitors also received complimentary food and drinks to complete their experience.

More than 260 staff and their family members attended the event, getting into the competitive spirit and going head-to-head on the many games, whilst making special new memories together along the way.

Chassis Operative Gary Neve and his wife Mandy, who also works in Willerby’s Quality Assurance team, both attended the day along with friend and colleague Alex Laycock, who works alongside Gary in the Chassis team.

Mandy said: “The day was ace in a fantastic venue with lots of activities. Willerby runs a lot of fun events for staff and families. In the past we’ve been to the pantomime and Yorkshire Wildlife Park. It definitely helps to boost morale.”

Alex added: “It was a great day and a nice opportunity to spend time with colleagues outside of work, have a laugh and socialise.”

Colleagues Elliott Smith and Charlie Bricklebank both attended with their daughters, Pippa and Scarlett. The girls got creative on the arts and crafts table, made the most of the face painting stall and gave their dads a run for their money on the virtual darts, both agreeing that it had been a brilliant day!
