Meet Gary Neve, Production operative at Willerby

Gary Neve, a Production Operative in Willerby’s chassis team, was among those recognised for 10 years of service to the company.

Speaking about his role, Gary said: “I work in the chassis team building the floors and bases for the holiday home. We joist them, make sure they’re securely screwed together and ensure they meet the high-quality standards Willerby expects.

“It’s a fast-paced environment and time passes really quickly. It’s a great set of lads. The team really are second to none!

“Like me, a lot of the guys in the team are quite experienced and have many years under their belts, but whenever a new team member joins us, we always take them under our wing and show them the ropes. It’s a friendly and supportive atmosphere.”

Gary, who lives in Hull, joined Willerby after a career in plumbing, seeking more stability and less travel to better suit his family life.

Having joined the company to spend more time with his family, Gary’s dream has now truly come true, with his wife Mandy and children Lucy and Charlie also becoming Willerby employees!

He said: “My wife Mandy could see how happy I was at Willerby so, after struggling to get back into work after the pandemic, she decided on a career change and applied for a role here. Since then, both Lucy and Charlie have also got jobs here too.

“It suits us all really well to work here. The hours fit around our family life and we’re all proud to work for such a well-known company, renowned for its high-quality products.

“The thing I enjoy most is knowing I’ve played a part in helping someone achieve their dream. For many people, owning a holiday home is a lifelong ambition and they save for a long time to make it happen, so I take a huge amount of pride in being part of that.”
