Selsey

Replete with beautiful beaches, Roman ruins, and 18th-century townhouses, the seaside town of Selsey is the perfect seaside spot.

Taste the famous Selsey Crab

It takes its name from the Anglo-Saxon ‘Seals-ey’, and on a clear day you can still see the seals bobbing around in the water. You can find out more about the town’s connection with the ocean at the RNLI Lifeboat Museum.

Twitchers will find a whole host of great attractions to explore. Head to Pagham Harbour Nature Reserve for bird watching, or see tropical animals at Earnley Butterflies, Birds and Beasts. If you’re more interested in man-made beauties, make a beeline for the gothic spires and Roman ruins of nearby Chichester.
