Skegness

Skegness might be more famous for its donkey rides and sticks of rock, but did you know its Central Beach also has Blue Flag status?

A traditional seaside town with a splash of culture

The East Lindsey District has stepped away from its traditional seaside roots in recent years, and today is perhaps better known for its culture and events – in July, for instance, it hosts one of the biggest art festivals in the UK!

In surrounding ‘Skeggy’ you’ll find villages dating back to the Viking era, along with some natural wonders, such as the Gibraltar Point National Reserve. Of course, if it’s family fun you’re after, then it’s still got its fair share of glitz. Amusements and candyfloss still abound on the pier as fairground rides whizz overhead.
