Further protection from the elements
All Willerby holiday homes comply with and in
many cases exceed
the specification dictated by EN 1647, the European standard for manufacture.
As a result insulation components and modern window systems
used as standard help to ensure your overall comfort in all weather conditions.
However with increasingly unpredictable weather conditions,
rising fuel costs and extended park opening times, more and more owners
are looking to bolster the thermal dynamics of their holiday home to allow
improved use into the winter months.
Therma Plus and Therma Max can be specified to any model
in the entire range to help improve the overall thermal performance.
|An upgrade pack that offers double glazing (for those models that do not feature it as standard), along with superior wall, floor and roof insulation.||Provides the ultimate in window systems, with further improvements to the insulation specification and our best ever thermal performance.|
|Window||Energy efficient PVCu double glazed windows and doors (air filled)||PVCu double glazed window and doors (Argon gas filled, Low E energy saving glass)|
|Wall||30mm Kingspan Thermawall insulation||50mm Kingspan Thermawall|
|Roof||80mm Super Glass insulation||120mm Super Glass insulation|
|Floor||50mm Super Glass insulation||100mm Super Glass insulation*|
|The improved thermal dynamics offered by these two options will significantly improve energy efficiency, reduce heat loss and subsequently extend usage throughout all seasons. *Composite sandwich floor supplied as standard on the Meridian Lodge.|
TYPICAL IMPROVEMENTS IN PERFORMANCE ARE AS FOLLOWS
|Standard average 'U' Value||Therma-Plus average 'U' Value||% improvement||Therma-Max average 'U' Value||% improvement|
|Meridian Lodge||0.68 W/m2K||N/A||N/A||0.47 W/m2K||31%|
|Cameo||1.13 W/m2K||0.67 W/m2K||40%||0.49 W/m2K||56%|
|Rio Gold 12ft||1.12 W/m2K||0.67 W/m2K||40%||0.43 W/m2K||61%|
|The above calculations are based on 42ft Meridian Lodge and 35ft Cameo and Rio models. Therma-Plus is not available on any models that are double glazed as standard, as these models inherently exhibit a lower 'U' value (Meridian Lodge, Atlanta, Skyline, Villa Deluxe and Azure).|
What is U-Value?
A U Value is a measure of heat loss through elements such as walls, floors, windows and roof spaces. It is a measure of how well parts of a holiday home transfer heat. Simply stated it is a measure of the flow of heat through an insulating or building material. The lower the U-Value, the better the insulating ability.
Units of measure W/M2K
Overall heat transfer co-efficient is measured in units of Watts per m2 per degree Kelvin.
Argon filled low E Double Glazed Units
Low E Energy Saving Glass is designed to keep as much heat inside as possible. The glass has a transparent metallic coating on one side that reflects heat back into the room rather than allowing it to escape through the window. It also allows optimum amounts of sunlight to pass through the window. The introduction of gas into the cavity of a double glazed unit reduces the heat conductance between the panes, helping to keep more heat in during the winter and out in the summer. The standard gas used for thermal insulation is Argon. Apart from its heat insulation properties, Argon is non-toxic, sunlight stable, non corrosive, colourless and odourless. The combination of Argon Gas and Low E Energy Saving Glass can achieve an improvement in thermal performance in the region of 50% over and above that of a standard sealed unit.
